In fact, I will say one thing more. ( standing on my soap box now)

Sometimes I am inspired and stimulated by reading things I completly disagree with. It stretches my brain and gives me pause to think and challenges my beliefs. If we can't be stretched and challenged, how do we know that what we believe isn't full of holes?

I want to read everything, and I don't want anyone out there to tell others they can't think something or say it.

(getting down now)

Adrienne, what a treat to find you here! Welcome, pull up a comfy chair and visit and comment often. I really want everyone to get to know each other.

Everyone I have met here is so special.

I 100% agree with your comments regarding people's ability to walk away. Leave the writing for the rest of us to read and don't deprive us!

Wendi - at Ms. O's suggestion, I came to read. And I say, WRITE WRITE WRITE.

Ms. O, the idea of someone discouraging you because they don't care for what you are writing is ludicrous. There is an ignore button, and even a Mark Thread as Read button, if some don't want to read a particular subject. And for the love of Pete, the boards aren't all that busy!

Marking this as a favorite, Wendi, so that I may enjoy your musings.

Wendi, this is a great post.

Remember, you are a writer. And your words are seeds for eternity.

hehe! yeah, I'm a writer because i write, and while I'm often the only one who actually reads what i write I still do it and offer it for others to read as it makes me a more interesting creative person.

Did Gauguin paint his last painting for the fans, critics, money, his wife or his ego? No, he liked painting. Did Van Gogh ever call himself an amature because he couldn't sell any paintings? no, he was always a painter regardless of what people thought of the art.

I am a writer because I write
and I do not lie down like a mat
I am a writer 'cos that's what I like
now what can you say about that?
